How to expel heavy cold and dampness from the body

Cold and dampness in the body can be eliminated mainly through medicines. For example, cold and dampness in the spleen and stomach can be treated with Hou Pu Wen Zhong Tang and other medicines to warm the middle of the body and strengthen the spleen and seep away dampness; cold and dampness in the lungs can be treated with San Zi Nourishing Relative Tang and other medicines to strengthen the spleen and dry dampness and resolve phlegm (to dispel dampness by drying dampness and resolve phlegm); and cold and dampness in the joints can be treated with Remineralization Soup and Three Paralyses Soup to dispel wind, dissipate cold, and clear the collaterals. Treatment can also be supplemented by external TCM treatments such as moxibustion.
Cold and dampness in the body are collectively referred to as cold-dampness, which can be retained in the internal organs, joints, tendons and veins, showing different symptoms.
Cold and dampness in the spleen and stomach as the main symptom can be given according to the patient’s condition, such as Hou Pu Wen Zhong Tang to warm the spleen, dispersing cold and dampness; cold and dampness in the lungs as the main symptom can be given according to the patient’s symptoms, such as Ling Gan Wu Wei Jiang Xin Tang, San Zi Nang Zi Tang, warming the lungs and resolving phlegm; cold and dampness in the joints as the main symptom can be given to remit the paralysis of the Tang, the three paralysis of the Tang to remove wind and dissipate cold.
Acupuncture and moxibustion are also effective treatments for dispelling cold and dampness, such as moxibustion at the mid-epigastric region, the foot Sanli, Shenque and other acupuncture points to warm the middle and disperse cold (to warm the spleen and stomach and dispel cold); moxibustion at the Lung Yu, the anointing of the vital area, the foot Sanli and other acupuncture points to warm the lungs and resolve the drink (to promote the operation of the stagnant fluid by warming the lungs); moxibustion of joints at Ashi points (the points that are obvious to the senses of acidity, numbness, distension, and pain) to improve the symptoms of joint pain, and so on.
Chinese medicines should be used under the guidance of a TCM practitioner, and external treatments of TCM should be operated by a professional physician, do not use medicines or operate privately to avoid damage to the organism.
