Symptoms of Spleen and Kidney Deficiency

Spleen and kidney deficiency can be categorized into spleen and kidney qi deficiency, spleen and kidney yin deficiency, and spleen and kidney yang deficiency (deficiency of yang qi in the spleen and kidneys), which are mainly manifested as symptoms of spleen deficiency such as mental fatigue (mental exhaustion, body weakness) and symptoms of kidney deficiency such as lumbar and knee soreness (a feeling of soreness and weakness in the lumbar area and knees). 1. Spleen and kidney qi deficiency: mainly manifested as fatigue (mental exhaustion, physical weakness), dullness (lack of appetite, reduced food intake), low food intake, loose stools (thin and unformed feces), low color, lumbar and knee soreness and weakness (feeling of lumbar and knee soreness and weakness), long and clear urine, pale tongue, white moss, and weak pulse. 2. Yin deficiency of the spleen and kidney: the main manifestations are hunger and lack of desire for food, soreness and weakness of the waist and knees, heart-heat (heat in the hearts of the hands and feet, and self-consciousness of the heart and chest), hot flashes (a burst of heat), night sweating (abnormal sweating after going to sleep, and stopping sweating after waking up), spermatorrhea, a red tongue with little moss, and a fine pulse (a pulse that becomes narrower and finer, and at an accelerated rate), and so on. 3. Spleen and Kidney Yang Deficiency: It is mainly manifested as colorless face, fatigue (mental exhaustion, physical weakness), dullness (no appetite, reduced food intake), less food, kidney ejaculation in the fifth day of the week, spermatorrhea, impotence, infertility with uterine cold, pale and fat tongue, thin white moss, and sluggish and weak pulse. Clinicians should be consulted if symptoms of spleen and kidney deficiency occur.
