The entry point of palatal foramen anesthesia is at the foramen magnum, when the tip of the needle reaches the foramen magnum, the empty needle is moved to the ipsilateral side, the injection needle is perpendicular to the jaw surface, in line with the pterygopalatine canal, and then the injection needle slowly enters the pterygopalatine canal about 3 to 4 cm, and when there is no blood in the retraction, 2 to 3 ml of anesthetic is injected, and the anesthetized area is mainly on the ipsilateral side of the entire upper jaw, the ipsilateral nasal cavity, the upper and lower eyelids, the upper lip, and the soft and hard palate. To perform this method of anesthesia, the main thing is to enter the needle slowly and never violently, so as not to break the needle.
