Cracked tongue (clinically known as furrowed tongue and fissured tongue) is mainly caused by poor oral hygiene or genetic factors, and is not directly related to AIDS.
Cracked tongue is a common tongue disease, the clinical symptom is the appearance of several deep grooves on the back of the tongue; its cause is mainly poor oral hygiene, resulting in inflammation and swelling of the tongue tissues and lesions; no special treatment is needed to maintain daily oral cleanliness.
AIDS will cause the body’s immunity to decline, so the oral defense function will also decline, the tongue is more prone to inflammation and cracks; but the tongue cracks are not necessarily AIDS, the discovery of grooves on the tongue recommended timely medical care, a clear diagnosis of standardized treatment, should not be overly panicked.
