Gynecomastia can be treated surgically. Currently, glandular excision, or liposuction, is commonly used clinically to remove the gland as well as excess fatty tissue. The recovery period after liposuction requires wearing a tight-fitting garment to facilitate the adhesion of the breast skin tissue to the underlying tissue for about 3 months. For glandular lipectomy, a drainage tube should be left in place for 24-48 hours after surgery to avoid the formation of a hematoma due to accumulation, and a straitjacket should be worn after removal of the drainage tube, while observing the blood flow in the nipple areola.
