Iodophor is available in two different concentrations. One concentration is 1%, which can be applied mainly when the skin is not cracked and can play a role in local disinfection. The other concentration is between 0.45% and 0.55%, which can be used in surgical procedures where there are local abnormalities in the mucous membrane or where there is local skin dehiscence, and can be used to disinfect and sterilize these areas, avoiding the possibility of abnormal infection to a certain extent and facilitating rapid wound recovery. If the patient’s wound has been abnormally infected, or if the resulting wound is deep, it is necessary to take oral anti-inflammatory drugs, such as amoxicillin and cefdinir, while using iodophor for disinfection.
