Swelling up of the ear may be related to auricular pseudocyst, auricular suppurative chondritis, insect bite dermatitis and other causes.
1. Auricular pseudocyst: its formation may be related to trauma or collision, extrusion and other mechanical stimuli, there are local circulatory disorders, tissue interstitial exudate accumulation caused by the auricle in front of the upper part of the limited bulge, and gradually increase in size, from the initial fluctuating feeling gradually mechanized hard.
2. Auricular suppurative perichondritis: it can be caused by frostbite, burn, trauma or secondary infection of auricular hematoma, forming suppurative inflammation of auricular perichondrium, with distension, pain and redness in the auricle, which can be gradually aggravated, and fluctuating sensation after the formation of abscess.
3. Insect bite dermatitis: traditionally known as “papular urticaria” is a localized skin allergic and inflammatory reaction that occurs after arthropod bites. When the auricular skin is stung by insects, sometimes in the local formation of erythema, pimples, or wind, with intense itching, scratching can aggravate the local redness and swelling.
