1. Physiological phenomenon: Usually when women’s menstruation is just coming, some people will show coffee-colored discharge due to low menstrual volume, which is a normal physiological phenomenon.
2. Cervicitis: usually due to Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae and other pathogenic infections, and also related to hormonal imbalance, multiple sexual partners, early age of sexual intercourse and other factors.
Most of the patients have no obvious symptoms, some patients will have an increase in vaginal discharge and abnormal vaginal bleeding, can also be manifested as a coffee-colored discharge. Some patients may also have pain during sexual intercourse, pain in the lower back and abdomen and other symptoms.
3. Cervical polyps: the cause of the disease is still unclear, mostly considered to be related to chronic inflammation, cervical infection and other conditions. Usually patients are asymptomatic, a small number of patients may have excessive leukorrhea, bleeding after sexual intercourse and bleeding between menstrual periods, which may also appear to have coffee-colored discharge phenomenon.
There may be other reasons for coffee-colored discharge, such as endocrine disorders, endometrial polyps, uterine submucosal fibroids, etc. Physiological phenomena should be ruled out first. If it is caused by a disease, it is necessary to actively seek medical treatment.
