Home rehabilitation care for cerebral palsy

  (1) The purpose and significance of home rehabilitation care for cerebral palsy 1. Conduct different degrees of rehabilitation training according to the guidance of therapists to enhance the training effect. 2.Create a good rehabilitation environment, promote the whole body and mind development of the child, and improve the therapeutic effect. 3.Prevent the emergence of secondary disorders such as joint contracture, minimize the obstacles and improve the ability of self-care. 4.Correct the abnormal posture of the child so as to reduce the muscle tension. (2) Specific methods of home rehabilitation care for cerebral palsy 1. Care for the child in the holding posture The child faces the parents, spread the child’s legs apart and then bend them up, hands apart, head slightly drooping or resting on the shoulders of the caregiver, or let the child’s hands reach over the caregiver’s shoulders around the neck. This position not only saves effort but also corrects the stiffness of the child’s legs and strengthens the child’s ability to control the head. The child should not lie on his back for a long time, because long-term supine position will lead to asymmetric movements and aggravate muscle spasm. The side lying position is not only good for the spastic muscle tension to be improved, but also good for the symmetry of the movement, but a small soft pillow should be clamped between the legs to avoid the tightness of the lower limbs causing high tension of the adductor muscle. 3, the child in the dressing care should choose to dress and undress easy to put on and take off clothes, the action should be gentle. Prone and supine positions are often used. If the position is improper, it will aggravate the whole body stiffness reaction. The child should lie on his or her back or on the parent’s lap, with the child’s legs apart and the knees flexed. When putting on and taking off the pants, the child’s legs should be flexed and the toes turned to the outside, after putting on one side, then the other side. Try to keep the child’s posture symmetrical and avoid strong pulling and tugging. Parents should supervise the child and choose a suitable toilet and the child’s posture for urination and defecation. For smaller children, the toilet can be placed on the lap of the caregiver, with the back supported and leaning forward slightly, and the legs bent and separated; for larger children, choose a suitable toilet and place it in a wooden box with a cross in front for the child’s support, or place the bench upside down and put the potty in it. (3) The importance of home rehabilitation for children with cerebral palsy There are many children whose treatment in the rehabilitation center is very effective, but their symptoms worsen when they go home, thus leading to the erratic condition of the child. This is partly because parents do not pay enough attention to home rehabilitation training and think that the treatment of their children mainly depends on the therapist in the rehabilitation center; and partly because parents do not understand how to conduct home rehabilitation training or they are confused because they know little about it. In the process of rehabilitation, the family is the only support for the child. The child cannot be treated in the hospital all the time, and their rehabilitation also depends on reasonable daily home care. Therefore, good home care can play a good role in promoting the rehabilitation of the child.
