Details in the daily care of cerebral palsy

Most children with cerebral palsy have limb movement disorders, mental retardation, speech disorders, etc. In more serious cases, children with cerebral palsy may even be paralyzed in bed, and if parents do not take care of them, complications such as pneumonia and bed sores may aggravate their condition and cause more harm to them. Therefore, while the child with cerebral palsy is receiving treatment, the parents should also take care of the child with cerebral palsy on a daily basis. What are the things to pay attention to when caring for a child with cerebral palsy? 1.Improve the living environment of the child with cerebral palsy: In the daily care, we must keep the living space of the child clean, open the windows and ventilate regularly, disinfect the air and ground regularly, take the child with cerebral palsy to outdoor activities often, do the child’s hygiene carefully, and pay attention to keep the child with cerebral palsy away from dangerous objects to prevent accidents from happening. 2.Improve daily diet: In terms of the diet for children with cerebral palsy, high-calorie, high-protein, vitamin-rich and easy-to-digest food should be provided. When feeding, do not pull out the spoon when the child’s teeth are clenched to prevent damage to the teeth. 3. Language training: Language training is an easy step to ignore in daily care, and it is also the most difficult to achieve the training purpose. Therefore, during the usual nursing process, we must think of increasing the amount of speech of the child, regardless of whether the child has cerebral palsy or not, we must think of using all kinds of opportunities to talk to the child, repeatedly encourage the child to vocalize, and when the child vocalizes, immediately talk and answer with him/her, praise and compliment him/her, and use the various desires of the child with cerebral palsy to encourage him/her to be active in vocalization. 4.Improve daily living: Choose clothes that are easy to put on and take off for the child, and generally put on and take off the limb on the sick side first when changing clothes. According to the child’s age, we should train him/her to groom and wash, and to develop the habit of urinating and defecating regularly. As the child grows older, teach the child with cerebral palsy to forewarn adults before defecating, learn to use hand towels and put on and take off pants.
