What does a papilloma of the uvula look like?

Papilloma of the uvula, a benign tumor caused by a viral infection, is caused by a papillomavirus infection. The tumor usually presents as an exophytic, pedunculated mass with a white cauliflower-like surface. The size ranges from a few millimeters to 2-3 cm in diameter. the base of the mass is not infiltrated. Most of them are isolated single lesions, and in a few cases they may be multiple. This disease often grows in the lower edge of the uvula and both sides, the size of the smaller ones often have no obvious discomfort, and most of them are found during the physical examination and seek medical treatment. The tumor grows slowly and is not easy to recur after surgical resection.
