How to treat sacroiliac joint tuberculosis

There are two types of conservative treatment and surgical treatment for sacroiliac joint tuberculosis. The conservative treatment should first be braked to allow the patient to have sufficient rest time, and then the patient should be given enhanced nutrition. There are also many anti-tuberculosis regimens, such as isoniazid, rifampin, pyrazinamide, ethambutol, etc. The combination of these drugs should be applied while monitoring the patient’s liver and kidney functions, and oral liver-protective drugs should be taken to prevent liver function damage. If there are septic sinus tracts or dead bone formation in the sacroiliac joint, it is recommended to apply surgical treatment, which can be done to remove the lesion and, if necessary, to fuse the sacroiliac joint. The debridement can be done in several times, and the dead bone or infected lesions should be removed thoroughly, and if necessary, internal fixation should be given to keep the sacroiliac joint completely braked, which is a good treatment for sacroiliac joint tuberculosis.
