What to do if a pregnant woman has increased discharge with itching

Increased discharge with itching in pregnant women is often seen in gynecological inflammation, such as vaginitis, cervicitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, etc., you need to go to a regular hospital, if necessary, under the guidance of the doctor to carry out targeted treatment, such as medication and so on.
1. Vaginitis: manifested by abnormal vaginal secretions (such as increased secretions), itching, pain, burning sensation and other symptoms in the vagina or vulva.
Vaginitis has different treatment options depending on the pathogen. For example, if vaginitis is caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection during pregnancy, miconazole nitrate suppositories and clotrimazole suppositories can be considered; if it is caused by bacterial infectious and Trichomonas vaginalis infection, metronidazole suppositories and clindamycin ointment can be considered.
2. Cervicitis: symptomatic mainly for the increase in vaginal discharge, vaginal secretion stimulation can cause vulvar itching and burning sensation. For pregnant women with mild symptoms, it is not recommended to treat during pregnancy and consider postpartum treatment; those with severe symptoms need to be treated with pathogen-specific antibiotics, such as azithromycin and cefixime.
3. Pelvic inflammatory disease: in severe cases, lower abdominal pain, increased vaginal discharge, etc., may be accompanied by itching. For severe cases in early pregnancy, penicillin can be considered; for middle and late pregnancy, broad-spectrum cephalosporin antibiotics can be considered.
In addition to the above reasons, pregnant women with increased secretions and itching can not rule out the possibility of other factors. Pregnant women should be cautious in the use of medication, it is recommended that the patient consult a doctor in a timely manner, follow the doctor’s instructions to standardize the treatment, do not blindly self-medication, in order to avoid the risk of medication.
