If the patient’s cough is caused by a viral infection, oral antiviral solution may be effective. If the patient’s cough is caused by bacteria, atypical pathogens or other causes, oral antiviral oral solution is ineffective, so when the patient has cough symptoms, it is crucial to further improve the examination to clarify the diagnosis. When the patient has decreased leukocytes, elevated lymphocytes, normal C-reactive protein, and positive viral antibodies, viral infection is considered, and heat-clearing and detoxifying drugs can be used, or symptomatic treatment. If the patient has elevated white blood cells, C-reactive protein, calcitoninogen appears to increase, clinically considered as a bacterial infection, need to be treated with antibiotics, such as cefuroxime, amoxicillin, azithromycin and so on.
