The presence of multiple nodular foci may be considered as a tumor, tuberculosis, inflammatory infection, or other disease. Generally more serious, need to be based on the cause of the symptomatic treatment. Such as drugs, surgical treatment, etc.
1. Tumor: benign tumors mostly have envelope, presenting spherical nodules and lumps with smooth and sharp edges, with better prognosis and not serious. Malignant are mostly infiltrating growth, with unsharp edges and fine short burrs. Malignant tumors are more serious. Early treatment is best with surgery. Drug therapy can also be used, including chemotherapy such as paclitaxel and gemcitabine; drug-targeted therapy such as afatinib and gefitinib. Radiotherapy and interventional therapy are also available.
2. Tuberculosis: Tuberculosis requires long-term treatment, and can generally be actively controlled with a better prognosis. It is often manifested as a round shape, with a bit of calcification inside, and often surrounded by “satellite foci”. Presentation of follicular size nodules, may also be millet nodular shadow. Anti-tuberculosis treatment is usually given with isoniazid, rifampicin, pyrazinamide, ethambutol, streptomycin and other drugs. Surgery is performed if necessary.
Multiple nodular foci in the lungs should not be self-medicated, and require medical treatment as soon as possible to avoid serious complications.
