Sequelae of tailbone fracture

Tailbone fracture usually does not leave sequelae, but a few patients may cause genitourinary system injury, rectal-anal tube injury, nerve injury and so on. 1. Genitourinary system injury: such as bladder, urethra, scrotum, testicle and ureter injury, which causes vesicovaginal fistula, urethral fistula and so on. 2. Rectal-anal tube injury: such as rectum, anal tube breakage, thus triggering anorectal stenosis or incontinence, urine with feces, vaginal fecal spillage, and so on. 3. Nerve injury: such as sacral nerve injury, which can cause incontinence or difficulty in urination and defecation, urinary retention, numbness in perineal area, and so on. In addition to the above sequelae, if the tailbone fracture damages the lumbosacral nerve, it will also cause the patient to walk unfavorably on the lower leg. It should be noted that patients with tailbone fracture should be treated in time to minimize the adverse effects of the disease.
