Cervical traction should be applied to patients suffering from cervical fracture, cervical spondylosis and cervical disc herniation, and the traction time should be controlled within 30 minutes each time, and the specific time should be decided according to the patient’s reaction during traction. Some patients have less reaction or no adverse reaction, in this case, the traction time can be extended appropriately. If discomfort occurs after traction, the traction time should be shortened or stopped immediately. Because of the rich blood vessels and nerves around the cervical spine, if traction treatment is carried out for too long, it can sometimes cause many uncomfortable symptoms, such as dizziness, headache, tinnitus, blurred vision, nausea, vomiting and so on. Cervical spine traction also needs to choose the right type of cervical spine disease, for example, patients with cervical spondylosis with severe spinal cord compression should not apply traction treatment, and should wait for the spinal cord to be relieved or released before applying appropriate traction.
