How to determine newborn diarrhea

Newborn diarrhea can be judged according to the clinical manifestations and auxiliary examination results. 1. Clinical manifestations: neonatal diarrhea can be seen in the increased frequency of stools and changes in the nature of the stools, manifested as loose stools, loose water stools, pus and blood stools. Children may have symptoms such as decreased appetite, crying, low-grade fever and low urine output. 2. Auxiliary examination: routine stool may detect elevated white blood cell count and fat globules. Stool culture may show bacteria or fungi. Routine blood test may detect elevated white blood cell count. Biochemistry may detect the presence of low blood potassium, low blood calcium, low blood magnesium and so on. Blood gas analysis may detect decreased PH and BE to determine the presence of acidosis. When newborn diarrhea is suspected, it is recommended to visit the hospital for prompt treatment.
