Is waking up at 3-4 pm every night a symptom of liver cancer?

Waking up at 3-4 o’clock every day cannot be a symptom of liver cancer and may only indicate insomnia. From a TCM perspective, the twelve hours correspond to the internal organs. During the zi hour, i.e. 11-1 pm, qi and blood run through the bile and liver meridians. Poor sleep during this time period may indicate problems with the liver and bile meridians. And 3-4 o’clock is already past the hour of the liver and gallbladder meridian, which is not exactly related to liver and gallbladder diseases. From the western medical point of view, insomnia is not clinically considered as a typical manifestation of tumor. Most diseases can cause insomnia, which may also occur under bad moods such as anger, depression and anxiety. For liver cancer, the most common ones are viral hepatitis such as hepatitis B and C and alcoholic liver disease caused by heavy alcohol consumption, which causes tumors by long-term development. Patients with insomnia should be treated promptly. Patients suspected of having liver cancer can have their diagnosis clarified through abdominal ultrasound and laboratory tests.
