Does endometritis affect menstruation

Inflammation of the endometrium can affect menstruation. In the acute stage of inflammation, the patient’s endometrium will have obvious localized edema, inflammatory exudation, blood circulation will be rich, and in individual cases, local tissue necrosis and bleeding will occur. Therefore, the patient’s menstruation mainly manifests as prolonged menstrual period, heavy menstrual flow, or even irregular vaginal bleeding. With the further development of endometrial inflammation, the inflammation of the endometrium may destroy the patient’s endometrium, leading to the destruction of the endometrial basal layer. In this case, the patient may develop adhesions in the endometrium, which can lead to delayed menstrual periods, scanty menstrual flow, or even amenorrhea. If the destruction of the endometrium leads to the invasion of the endometrial mesenchyme and glands into the myometrium, adenomyosis can occur, leading to dysmenorrhea, increased menstrual flow and irregular vaginal bleeding.
