Tongue trembling in the elderly may be caused by idiopathic tremor, alcoholic encephalopathy, cerebral infarction and so on. 1. Idiopathic tremor: Tongue trembling is mostly seen in idiopathic tremor, especially after the age of 40, and the patient manifests the tremor of the tongue, accompanied by the tremor of the head and the tremor of the hands at the same time. Idiopathic tremor is not found to be positive after examination and may be inherited by the family. 2. Alcoholic encephalopathy: Tongue tremor can also occur in alcoholic encephalopathy, especially in patients who have been suffering from alcoholic encephalopathy for a long time. After examination, it can be found that the patient also suffers from alcoholic peripheral neuropathy. 3. Cerebral infarction: cerebral infarction is a kind of ischemic disease, mainly due to cerebral arterial atherosclerosis, which leads to thickening of blood vessel wall, narrowing of blood vessel lumen, and lesions of blood vessels. This condition leads to poor blood flow and cerebral ischemia and hypoxia. In daily life, if the patient is agitated or overworked, symptoms of shaking, including tongue shaking, will occur. When the elderly have symptoms of tongue shaking, they should go to the hospital for examination and treatment under the guidance of the doctor.
