There is no clear evidence that Tongxinluo Capsules can treat pulmonary hypertension, and the patient’s pulmonary hypertension may be caused by different reasons, pulmonary hypertension may be primary, may be caused by lung disease, or may be caused by pulmonary artery obstructive disease, the reasons are different, and the treatment is also different. Tongxinluo Capsule is a kind of Chinese patent medicine, which is composed of ginseng, leech, scorpion, red peony, cicada slough, turtle shell, centipede, sandalwood, descending incense, frankincense (systematic), sour jujube kernel (stir-fried), and ice tablets, and it has the efficacy of benefiting the qi and activating the blood (replenishing the qi and blood, so as to make the body’s qi and blood plump up, and blood veins smooth), and clearing the collateral to relieve the pain (dredging the meridian and collaterals and relieving the pain). Tongxinluo capsule is often used in coronary heart disease angina pectoris belonging to the cardiac qi deficiency, blood stasis and collateral obstruction evidence, the symptoms of chest tightness, stabbing pain, colic, fixed, palpitations (heartbeat accelerated, often accompanied by panic), self-sweating (involuntary sweating during the day, sweating aggravated by a slight movement), shortness of breath and fatigue, the tongue is purple or dark or petechiae and so on. This product is also used in the type of stroke with deficiency of qi and blood stasis, which is characterized by hemiplegia (inability to move one side of the limb freely) or hemiplegia with numbness, crookedness of the mouth and tongue, and unfavorable speech. Individual patients may experience stomach discomfort after using the drug. This product is contraindicated in hemorrhagic disorders, pregnant women and women during menstruation, as well as in the type of stroke characterized by yin deficiency and fire exuberance (deficiency of yin and essence in the body and hyperactivity of deficiency fire). There is no clear evidence that Tongxinluo Capsules can treat pulmonary hypertension. If pulmonary arterial hypertension is diagnosed, please follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment, do not blindly use the drug.
