What is the difference between melanosis and age spots?

Age spots occur on the face, back of the hands, chest and back, but also on other parts of the body such as the limbs.
The initial lesion is one or several yellowish or light brown flat papules, later slowly increase in size, thicken and increase in number, forming black warty papules or plaques, usually difficult to fade on its own, benign, malignant change is very rare.
