To determine the benign and malignant tumors on the spine, we mainly start from the growth rate, symptoms, imaging examination, pathological examination and so on. 1. Growth speed, benign tumors grow slowly, while malignant tumors will increase rapidly in a short period of time because of the fast reproduction of cancer cells, therefore, they can be distinguished by their growth speed. 2. Symptoms, benign tumors of the spine usually do not have obvious symptoms, while malignant tumors will show obvious pain and lumps. 3. Imaging examination, through CT and other examinations, benign tumors have clear boundaries and do not have bone destruction, while malignant tumors have unclear boundaries and infiltration phenomenon. 4. Pathological examination, through the observation of tumor tissues, to determine whether there are cancer cells, if there are cancer cells are malignant tumors.
