Can sepsis be cured in the elderly?

Sepsis in the elderly is potentially curable, but there is some mortality. Sepsis is an acute systemic infectious disease, due to external pathogenic bacteria, into the blood system, in the body of a large number of growth and reproduction of toxins, causing systemic inflammatory reaction syndrome. If the elderly are usually in good physical condition, have no underlying diseases, and have normal immunity, most of them can be cured through active and regular treatment. However, if the elderly usually have lower immunity, or the body itself has diabetes, chronic tumors and other underlying diseases, the development of severe disease is more likely, the cure rate may be lower, and the mortality rate is higher. Elderly people with sepsis should seek medical attention as soon as possible and take appropriate treatment measures under the guidance of a doctor.
