What is known is that novel coronaviruses are transmitted primarily by airborne and contact transmission. No evidence of mosquito transmission of novel coronaviruses has been found. In addition, SARS and MERS viruses, which are “close relatives” to novel coronaviruses, have not been found to be transmitted by mosquito bites in previous epidemics. The aerosol and fecal-oral routes of transmission have yet to be clarified, and flies may be transmitted through the fecal-oral route, so disinfection and hand hygiene must be done.
