What are the causes of perianal abscesses?



Perianal abscesses can be caused by intestinal bacterial infections, inadequate perianal hygiene, or other chronic diseases such as diabetes.

1. Intestinal bacterial infection: Intestinal bacterial infection is the most common cause of perianal abscess. When anusitis or sinusitis occurs in the anal canal, the bacteria flow to the connective tissue under the skin with the anal canal in the body and spread to form an abscess with both internal and external openings.

2. Inadequate hygiene and cleanliness: Inadequate cleaning of the perianal area triggers pathogenic bacterial growth and inflammation, leading to the formation of abscesses.

3. Disease causes: such as patients with diabetes, can also cause anorectal vascular occlusion, decreased resistance, but also cause perianal abscess symptoms; anorectal injury, anal fissure, etc. can be secondary perianal abscess.
