Hysteroscopy generally does not require hospitalization. Hysteroscopy is a routine gynecologic examination with relatively low risk and can be done on an outpatient basis. Hysteroscopy can be used for the examination of abnormal uterine bleeding, ultrasound examination of abnormal echoes in the uterine cavity, adhesions in the uterine cavity, intussusception of the IUD, longitudinal septum, and scarred diverticulum of the uterus. Hysteroscopy is performed on 3-7 days of clean menstruation and can be performed at any time for abnormal uterine bleeding or postmenopausal women. During the hysteroscopy procedure, endometrial tissue is routinely taken for pathology to clarify the diagnosis. If there are mild adhesions in the uterine cavity, hysterine adhesion separation can be performed, and in the case of small endometrial polyps, polypectomy can also be performed directly. However, for submucosal fibroids, large endometrial polyps or severe uterine adhesions, hospitalization is required for hysteroscopic electrosurgery.
