Can you eat duck eggs with cholecystitis?

Duck eggs are not recommended for people with cholecystitis because duck egg yolks contain high levels of cholesterol, which tends to stimulate gallbladder contraction and cause further worsening of abdominal pain. You can try to eat duck eggs after your cholecystitis has completely recovered. You should not eat other diets while suffering from cholecystitis, such as overly oily foods, commonly including braised meat, fatty sausage, squid, and so on. Also try not to consume drinks containing alcohol, as alcohol can have a disulfiram-like reaction with many antibiotics and can even be life-threatening. Patients should also avoid foods that are difficult to digest and tend to form hard stools, such as dried vegetables, dried mushrooms and dried bean curd, and may consume fresh fruits and green vegetables as appropriate. If cholecystitis is very serious, it may be necessary to temporarily stop eating and drinking, and give nutritional fluids for supportive treatment. Other dietary precautions can be consulted with the physician in charge.
