The twitching of the right eye all the time is the occurrence of oculomotor spasm, and if it continues to worsen it may lead to spasm of the facial muscles as well, which is an involuntary movement disease of the facial muscles. The main cause of the lesion is not fully understood, but it is considered to be related to the increased excitability of the facial nerve, which occasionally occurs in most patients under normal conditions, manifesting as a sensation of eyelid fluttering, and is likely to occur when emotionally stressed or anxious, when sleeping poorly, or when consuming stimulating beverages such as strong tea or coffee. If symptoms persist and do not improve, medication is needed, often using thiopride or haloperidol, carbamazepine, etc. When using medication, the dose should be adjusted slowly from small doses, maintained with the smallest dose that can control the patient’s symptoms, and regular monitoring of blood count and liver function to avoid side effects.
