The depth of the needle for the Zhongji point is 1-1.5 inches.
Zhongji point, also known as Yuquan and Qiyuan, belongs to the Ren vein and is located on the anterior midline, 4 inches below the navel. It has the efficacy of warming yang and benefiting water (replenishing yang qi in the body and promoting the circulation of water and fluids), regulating menstruation and stopping leukorrhea (regulating menstruation and reducing abnormally increased leukorrhea).
It can be clinically paired with points such as Bladder Yu for the treatment of anterior yin disorders such as dysuria (unsmooth urination) and enuresis; with points such as Sanyinjiao for the treatment of male disorders such as spermatorrhea; and with points such as Guilai for the treatment of gynecological disorders such as irregular menstruation and disintegrative leakage (excessive menstruation or dribbling).
This point should be emptied of the bladder when the needle is inserted to avoid puncture. Moxibustion can also be performed. Pregnant women should choose this point with caution.
Patients who need to undergo treatment should go to the hospital and receive regular treatment.
