A high pressure of 100 mmHg and a low pressure of 60 mmHg are considered normal blood pressure and are generally not life-threatening.
According to the 2010 Chinese Guidelines for the Prevention and Treatment of Hypertension, a systolic blood pressure of 90 to 120 mmHg and a diastolic blood pressure of 60 to 80 mmHg are normal values. Therefore, a systolic blood pressure of 100 mmHg and a diastolic blood pressure of 60 mmHg are within the normal range.
Assessment of risk requires comparison with usual blood pressure values and a comprehensive assessment of clinical and underlying disease. If the difference from the patient’s usual blood pressure is not significant and there are no associated clinical manifestations or underlying diseases, the long-term prognosis is good and generally not life-threatening. Specialized examination and regular blood pressure monitoring are recommended.
