Efficacy of Dasatinib Tablets

Dasatinib Tablets are used for the treatment of adult patients with Philadelphia chromosome-positive chronic myeloid leukemia in the chronic, accelerated, and acute stages (acute granulomatous and acute lymphomatous) who are resistant to, or intolerant of, imatinib mesylate. Dasatinib tablets are protein kinase inhibitors that inhibit the activity of BCR-ABL kinase and SRC family kinases as well as many other selective oncogenic kinases. The drug is a potent, sub-nanomolar inhibitor of BCR-ABL kinase, which is active at concentrations of 0.6 to 0.8 nM, and it binds to both the active and inactive conformations of BCR-ABL enzyme. Adverse reactions to this drug involve several systems, and commonly include infections, pneumonia myelosuppression, febrile neutropenia, headache, visual disturbances, tinnitus, congestive heart failure, arrhythmia, palpitations, hemorrhage, hypertension, diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, abdominal pain, rashes, alopecia, dermatitis, musculoskeletal pain, arthralgia, myalgia, and others. It is contraindicated for those who are allergic to any of the components of the drug. It is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years of age and should not usually be used in pregnant women. If the drug is taken during pregnancy, or if the patient becomes pregnant while using the drug, then the patient must be informed about its potential danger to the fetus.
