What to do about low glomerular filtration rate

The causes of low glomerular filtration rate mainly include physiological factors such as strenuous exercise, pregnancy, etc., and pathological factors such as infection, diabetes, hypertension, kidney disease, etc. Generally, medication is needed according to the cause of the disease, and hemodialysis can be used to improve the condition if necessary. 1. Physiological factors: common in strenuous exercise, large amount of meat, pregnancy, fever, etc., at this time, most of them are transient high glomerular filtration rate, do not need special treatment, and can be recovered after removing the causes. 2. Pathologic factors: (1) Infection: if high glomerular filtration rate is induced by infection, it is necessary to choose appropriate antibiotics according to the results of bacterial culture and drug sensitivity, such as penicillin, levofloxacin, ceftriaxone and other drugs for treatment. (2) Diabetes mellitus and hypertension: active control of blood glucose and blood pressure is needed, which can be treated with hypoglycemic drugs such as metformin, gliquidone, acarbose, etc.; and antihypertensive drugs such as captopril and valsartan. (3) Kidney diseases: common in acute and chronic glomerulonephritis, chronic renal failure, pyelonephritis, interstitial nephritis, lupus nephritis, etc., which can be treated with glucocorticosteroids such as prednisone acetate, methylprednisolone, immunosuppressants such as cyclophosphamide, tacrolimus, etc.; and hemodialysis can be used to improve the condition of the severe cases. If the glomerular filtration rate is found to be high, it is recommended that the patient go to a regular hospital in time and follow the doctor’s instructions for standardized diagnosis and treatment.
