Liver calcifications do not indicate impaired liver function. Calcified liver foci are mainly due to healing calcium deposits from previous hepatobiliary disease and are not indicative of impaired liver function. In the absence of other abnormalities, a diagnosis of intrahepatic calcified foci alone does not usually require specific treatment, only a good regular liver check-up.
