Difference between kidney calcification foci and stones

There is a difference between kidney calcification and stones, and the difference lies in: 1. Different sites of occurrence. Kidney calcification foci occur in the renal parenchyma, not in the renal pelvis of the kidney. Stones, on the other hand, usually occur in the renal pelvis, not in the renal parenchyma. 2. The etiology of the occurrence is different. Calcified foci in the kidney usually occur after inflammation, or traumatic injury, or non-specific inflammation of the kidney, such as after renal tuberculosis, where local healing plaques are formed and calcified foci are formed, whereas stones occur in the renal pelvis because of an abnormal increase in the components in the urine or a decrease in the components that inhibit stone formation and the formation of crystalline stones.3. Different treatment modalities Kidney calcification is considered to be a manifestation of healing and requires no special treatment, only regular review and observation. Kidney stones can cause urinary tract obstruction, causing pain and urinary bleeding, so extracorporeal lithotripsy treatment and lithotripsy or anti-infection treatment are needed.
