Stabbing pain in the back of the head is considered to be caused by a neuropathic headache. Patients may suffer from cold, flu, fever or excessive fatigue, which may lead to the stimulation of pain-sensitive structures in the brain, resulting in headache symptoms. Patients should also take more rest, eat more fresh vegetables and fruits, and avoid substances that cause headache, such as strong tea, strong coffee and cheese products.
