Can patients with multiple liver cancers undergo surgical resection?

Multiple hepatocellular carcinomas are not an absolute contraindication to hepatic resection. Whether surgical patients can be operated mainly depends on liver reserve function and remaining functional liver volume. Patients with multiple liver cancers can still be considered for hepatectomy if they have fair liver function, no distant metastasis, and sufficient remaining functional liver volume. For cases that cannot undergo one-stage surgery, TACE, portal vein embolization (PVE) and other procedures can be considered first, with a view to shrinking the tumor or increasing the functional liver volume, and then radical surgery can be performed.
