Can osteoporosis cause dense shadows in the thoracic spine?

Osteoporosis does not usually cause hyperdense shadows in the thoracic spine.
Osteoporosis is a metabolic bone disease mainly caused by loss and decrease of bone mass, destruction of bone tissue microstructure, and increase of bone fragility. X-ray examination mainly looks at the changes in bone quality, such as changes in bone density, changes in bone trabeculae, and changes in vertebral body morphology. Initially, there is a decrease in bone density and the bone trabeculae are still clear, but later there may be changes or disappearance of the bone trabeculae.
Thoracic spine hyperdense shadow is grayish-white on X-ray, which is commonly seen in diseases such as osteomalacia, osteogenic tumor, etc. X-plain film examination is not sensitive to osteoporosis, which is manifested on X-ray when there is a loss of 30% to 40% of bone mass.
It is recommended to combine X-ray with other examinations such as bone density to determine whether osteoporosis exists, and X-ray should not be used as the only examination standard.
Thoracic spine high density shadow, it is recommended to go to the regular hospital in time, do not delay treatment.
