What to do if your hand is bitten by a turtle

Turtle bites on the hand should be sterilized with iodophor and the wound should be kept clean, avoiding water as much as possible. If the wound is deep, further treatment in hospital is recommended.
Since the rabies virus is usually transmitted among mammals, a turtle bite on the finger is not usually infected with rabies virus. However, hands bitten by turtles may still be infected with other viruses. Therefore, if the wound is not deep, you should disinfect the wound with iodophor or hydrogen peroxide immediately after being bitten, and then keep the wound clean and dry.
If the wound is deeper, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital for further treatment, and if necessary, antibiotic treatment or tetanus antitoxin injection to prevent serious infection.
