Liu Wei Di Huang Wan and Zhi Bai Di Huang Wan are used to treat two different conditions, so it is impossible to compare which one is better. Liu Wei Di Huang Wan is composed of six herbs, including Cornus officinalis, Ze Xie, and Mudan Pi, which are effective in nourishing yin and tonifying the kidneys. It is used for kidney yin deficiency, lumbar and knee soreness and weakness (a feeling of soreness and weakness in the waist and knees), dizziness and tinnitus, night sweating (abnormal sweating after going to sleep, but sweating stops after waking up), spermatorrhea, thirst, heat of the hands and feet, and red tongue with little moss. Its adverse effects are not clear, and should not be taken by allergic individuals. It should not be taken during cold and flu. Zhi Bai Di Huang Wan is composed of Zhi Mu, Cortex Phellodendron Bark, Dried Yam, Ze Xie Di, Mudan Pi and so on. It has the effect of nourishing yin and lowering fire (nourishing yin essence and lowering fire). It is used for symptoms of yin deficiency and fire (deficiency of yin essence in the body, resulting in hyperactive fire), hot flashes and night sweating, dry mouth and sore throat, tinnitus and spermatorrhea, short and red urination (small amount of urination, dark yellow in color), toothache due to deficiency fire, heartburn and heat (heat in the hearts of the hands and feet, and self-consciousness of heart and chest), night sweating and zygomatic redness (reddish color in the cheeks and zygomatic bone area), and so on. Adverse effects are not clear, and should not be taken by people with spleen deficiency and loose stools (thin and unformed feces). If you need to use the medicine, you need to use it correctly under the doctor’s diagnosis. Do not use it blindly on your own, so as not to cause discomfort to the body.
