Gallbladder polyp lesions are benign lesions of the gallbladder in which the wall of the gallbladder grows into the lumen in a polyp-like fashion. There are various differences depending on the cause and composition of the polyps. In China, with the improvement of imaging technology, the detection rate of gallbladder polyp-like lesions is gradually increasing, and it is now believed that the most common complications of polyps are cholecystitis and gallbladder polyp carcinoma. Polyps with symptoms have the need for resection. At the same time, the general literature suggests that polyps larger than 1 cm or growing rapidly in a short period of time have a potential risk of carcinoma and surgery is recommended.
