Depending on the cause of gallbladder polyps, there is a certain chance of recurrence after cholecystectomy. However, most patients can reduce the recurrence rate of gallbladder polyps through dietary changes and medication control, i.e., a light diet, cholagogic medications and ursodeoxycholic acid medications, under the guidance of doctors. It is also recommended that patients with gallbladder polyps should have their gallbladder ultrasound checked every four months to observe the condition of the gallbladder wall and bile in order to further adjust the medication and dietary guidance to reduce the recurrence rate.
