There are many common causes of vision loss, such as keratitis, cataract, uveitis, vitreous hemorrhage, fundus disease, refractive error, etc., and the treatment methods are also different.
For example, bacterial keratitis needs to be treated with antibiotics such as levofloxacin eye drops, and when the condition is serious, surgery such as corneal transplantation is needed.
For cataracts that cause vision loss, cataract ultrasonic emulsification combined with IOL implantation is needed to improve vision.
Vision loss due to uveitis can be treated with topical eye drops such as prednisolone acetate drops and other glucocorticosteroid eye drops, and oral prednisolone acetate tablets and other glucocorticosteroid medications if necessary to control inflammation and improve vision.
If vision loss is caused by vitreous hemorrhage, drugs such as Yunnan Baiyao capsule and Panax ginseng tablets can be taken orally to promote the absorption of hemorrhage so as to improve vision. If the effect is poor, surgery such as vitrectomy is needed.
If vision loss is caused by fundus disease, corresponding treatments should be taken according to different lesions, e.g. retinal detachment mostly requires surgical treatments such as vitrectomy and scleral buckling to improve vision.
For refractive errors that cause vision loss, glasses and refractive surgery are often used to correct vision.
It is recommended that patients seek timely medical treatment to clarify the cause of vision loss and then target treatment.
