How long can you live with stage 4 bone metastases from lung cancer?

Stage 4 lung cancer refers to stage IV lung cancer, which is also known as advanced lung cancer. It is impossible to generalize how long a patient can live in case of bone metastasis, but on the whole, his/her survival period is relatively short, from a few months to a year or so. How long a patient can live in case of bone metastasis cannot be diagnosed conclusively, and it is closely related to the pathological type of the primary tumor, metastasis, patient’s personal condition and underlying diseases. The five-year survival rate of stage IV non-small cell lung cancer is about 5%, while the five-year survival rate of stage IV small cell lung cancer is about 3%. For stage IV lung cancer with bone metastasis, the survival period is about several months to one year. Stage IV lung cancer patients should cooperate with doctors to implement individualized comprehensive treatment plan even if bone metastasis occurs, as a way to prolong personal survival.
