The mid-epigastric point is located in the upper abdomen, on the anterior midline, 4 inches above the center of the navel. The mid-epigastric point is taken at one-half of the line from the midpoint of the chest-sword union to the navel. This point belongs to the Ren Chakra in the Eight Channels of Qi Jing, and is mainly used for treating stomach pain, vomiting, acid swallowing (swallowing the acid that rushes upward from the stomach to the oropharynx), bloating, hiccups, poor appetite, dyspepsia, jaundice, as well as coughing and phlegm, insomnia, epilepsy and epilepsy, and other disorders. The middle epigastric point is used with Fenglong point to resolve phlegm; with Foot Sanli point to treat stomach pain; with Qihai point and Tanzhong point to treat vomiting; with Hundred Meetings point, Foot Sanli point and Shenmen point to treat insomnia, dirty agitation (upset and depression, and sadness and wanting to cry for no reason); with Liver Yu point, Taichong point, Sanyinjiao point and Gongsun point to treat gastric ulcers; and with Epigastric point and Liangmen point to treat biliary ascariasis. With Yangchi and Uterus points for irregular menstruation.
