What is rheumatism

Rheumatism is a group of diseases in which muscle and joint pain is the main cause. It mainly affects the connective tissues of the body and may be the result of damage to the immune system. Rheumatoid arthritis is a common symptom that occurs in many rheumatic patients. It is a common acute inflammatory disease of the connective tissue. Clinical symptoms are usually characterized by pain. It may be accompanied by mild and moderate fever and burning, redness, swelling and severe pain in the joints. The symptoms of acute rheumatoid arthritis usually subside after 3 to 4 weeks. If it is not treated promptly, it may recur. Patients with painful joints often have stiffness in the morning when they get up, and the joints may also feel stiff after a long period of rest, and the symptoms will slowly disappear after activity. If the rheumatism is more severe, the joints may become deformed and dysfunctional, etc. For example, the knee cannot be fully straightened and the joint is subluxed. These are all due to the destruction of cartilage in the body. In the treatment of rheumatism, different treatment should be taken according to different causes, because there are many causes of rheumatism and some complex pathological conditions. Therefore, when rheumatism treatment is carried out, medication or surgical treatment, such as orthopedic surgery, can be taken according to the specific conditions of the patient.
