The difference between night sweats in cancer and regular night sweats

Cancer is also called cancer disease in Chinese medicine, and the night sweating caused by it (abnormal sweating after going to sleep and stopping sweating after waking up) is different from that of ordinary patients in terms of etiology and pathogenesis, accompanying symptoms as well as treatment difficulty. 1. Etiology and pathogenesis: Normal patients’ night sweating is mostly considered to be caused by yin deficiency and fire exuberance, which steams and forces the fluid to go out, whereas cancer is mostly due to pathological changes such as gas stagnation, phlegm coagulation, dampness, and heat and toxins which are embedded in internal organs and fight with each other, and gradually become in a long period of time. Therefore, the etiology of cancer’s night sweating is much more complicated, and may be accompanied with phlegm and blood stasis on the basis of yin deficiency and fire exuberance. 2. Accompanying symptoms: Normal patients’ night sweating is seldom accompanied by other uncomfortable symptoms, or only accompanied by mild uncomfortable symptoms such as hot flashes, irritability, and warmth of hands, feet and heart, etc., but cancer patients may be accompanied by more serious accompanying symptoms such as pain, insomnia and emaciation. 3. Difficulty of treatment: ordinary patients can improve in a short time after symptomatic medication or lifestyle improvement, but cancer patients may have repeated episodes or gradual aggravation, and the treatment effect is not significant. It is suggested that patients with night sweating should consult a doctor in time and be treated by a professional doctor.
