Can you drink more water if you have a lot of dampness?

Generally normal drinking water will not cause heavy dampness, so patients with heavy dampness can drink more water in moderation according to their own situation. Patients with heavy dampness can be seen to have soreness of the waist, sleepiness of the limbs, joint and muscle pain, and the pain does not move; or poor appetite, chest tightness, unfavorable urination (unruly urine), and loose stools. If the patient with heavy dampness has thirst, it is appropriate to drink more water. If there is no sign of dehydration, drinking water appropriately is sufficient, and it is not recommended to drink more water blindly so as not to aggravate the discomfort. Patients with heavy dampness can be treated with medication, such as Zhongman Fenxie Pills. Zhongman Fenxie Pill is used for spleen deficiency, stagnant qi, damp-heat stagnation caused by the accumulation of food and water, epigastric (abdominal) distension and pain, irritable heat (irritability and sultriness), bitter taste in the mouth, inverted satiety (do not feel satiated after eating, and after a while feel bloated and indigestible), cacophony (the stomach has a feeling similar to hunger, emptiness with a burning sensation), and so on. Pregnant women should be cautious. Patients with heavy dampness are advised to seek medical treatment promptly. If medication is needed, it should be identified by a doctor and regulated in accordance with medical advice.
