Will CT detect normal intra-abdominal lymph nodes?

Normal intra-abdominal lymph nodes will not be found by CT. There are lymph nodes in the abdominal cavity, but they are not visible through imaging. If ultrasound and CT findings show enlarged lymph nodes, inflammation and tumor are usually considered. 1. Inflammation: mesenteric lymphadenitis, mainly caused by children’s upper respiratory tract infections, manifests as wandering abdominal pain, usually with a history of infection more than a week or so prior to the onset of the disease; and intra-abdominal lymphatic tuberculosis infections, and some of the infected lymph nodes may be detected in CT due to calcification. 2. Tumor: the possibility of gastrointestinal malignant tumor with lymph node metastasis should be highly alerted. Further enhanced CT examination is needed to confirm the diagnosis. After diagnosis, it should be staged according to the situation, and surgery or even chemotherapy and radiotherapy is needed if necessary. Once found abdominal lymph node swelling, should go to the hospital in time to check the cause of the disease, and under the guidance of the doctor active treatment.
